What to check first

Confirm the work is for outside Portugal
The route is designed for remote professional activity performed for outside Portuguese territory.

Hold the correct visa
For the residence-permit stage, AIMA indicates a valid residence visa for remote work.

Prove the employment/service relationship
A declaration from the person/entity based outside Portugal confirming the employment link or service relationship is required.

Organise NIF, address and other evidence
As with other residence permits, general and route-specific documents must be prepared.
