What to know first

01

Immediate danger or serious emergency

If there is an immediate risk to life or physical safety, fire, or a serious medical emergency, use the European emergency number 112.

02

Domestic violence

It is a public crime in Portugal. CIG maintains official information and a national support network; situations can be reported to PSP, GNR, the Public Prosecution Service or the official channels indicated.

03

Labour exploitation / abusive work

Keep contracts, messages, schedules, receipts and other evidence where safe. ACT accepts employment complaints, including working conditions and migrant labour.

04

Lost passport or residence card

Report loss/theft where required. For a passport, contact your country's consulate; for a residence title, AIMA provides second-copy/data-change routes through its Contact Form.

Important: If it is safe enough to do so, do not delete important evidence. But your safety comes before collecting documents or messages.
